job description - Support Resource Officer
To assess and coordinate emergency vehicles or calls to ensure a timeous response to incidents logged on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD). To assist in receiving , prioritise and log emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and to determine the appropriate level of EMS assistance.
The suitable incumbent must have the ability to multitask, coupled with strong communication skills and attention to details.
Required Education
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 12
DESIRED EDUCATION: BAA/ Level 3 first aid Certification
Required Experience
ESSENTIAL MININUM EXPERIENCE: Contact Centre / Emergency Contact Centre exposure
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 – 3 years dispatching in an EMS contact centre
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Dispatch vehicles according to the CAD system
Assist in receiving, prioritise, logging, and processing all calls and alerts received
Provide basic contact centre administration
