job description - Supply Planner (Traded Stock)

The primary focus in this role is managing and maintaining the traded stock portfolio from local manufacturing and other Kerry Global Sites to customers within South Africa. You are responsible for the Supply Planning functions such as MRP planning, FGs inventory, Fulfilment of Customer Orders On-Time-and-In-Full, Master data Maintenance and NPI of products within the traded stock portfolio. You must develop optimum level of supply planning execution to support Business Units & Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop continuous improvement activities to drive planning excellence through efficiencies in the supply chain network
  • Be the single point of contact with effective communications to Customer Care, Commercial, Operation, Transport and Technology Supply Specialists
  • Ensure the right capacity and capability in place to supply and deliver end products to customer
  • Work with Demand Planner & Customer Care to establish ‘Supply Level Agreements’ that secure supply with an appropriate balance between risk, opportunity, and flexibility
  • Analyse demand plans and order trends for traded stocks and pro-actively highlight any risks or constraints through effective communication and appropriate escalation.
  • Ensure sales orders, inventories, safety stock, supply plans are effectively managed including close monitoring of excess, slow moving, aging and phase-in and phased-out models
  • Executing the agreed standard supply planning processes, supporting the implementation of new projects and tools to ensure continuity of excellent supply plan
  • Play a key role in facilitating emergent issues that impact on schedule and commitment. Work with functional team to find solutions and perform root-cause and gap analysis
  • Establish planning control check points and processes to drive and uphold commitment & supply integrity
  • Achieve FG inventory target set by Group, manage safety stocks & goods movement
  • Improve supply service level through administering operational terms & criteria, supply planning efficiency & flexibility, capacity optimization and lead-time reduction
  • Capture exceptional orders, cost, and risk of order changes impact to capacity and recommend solutions

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum Degree in Business / Logistics / Supply Chain / Finance
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Planning roles in Supply Chain function - Food Manufacturing experience is preferable but not essential
  • Advanced MS Office and ERP experience is essential - SAP is preferred
  • Advanced level of English required

  • Possess strong planning and analytical skills and be able to take complex issues and break down actions for resolutions and working with tight deadlines
  • A solid communicator who can build strong relations and is not afraid to challenge decisions when they see better alternatives or potential pitfalls
  • Possess strong business acumen with supply chain and operational insight
  • Possess an open / transparent, collaborative mind-set that enables cross-functional teamwork
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed 
  • Exceptional time management and a structured approach to execute tasks and duties
