job description - Senior Market Analyst

  • Apply mathematical, statistical, and economic techniques to determine market conditions, project customer demand, and consumer behavior, and inform product launch strategy. Explore market trends and opportunities while directing and implementing strategies that inform general market placement. Manage research activities to provide accurate and timely market and competitor information for strategic and operational decisions.

Duties include:

  • Performing complex analytics and statistical modeling on large data sets to identify market/business sector trends, customer buying patterns, etc. to inform business, product development, and marketing decisions.
  • Creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify target customer segments and simulate the impact of new product launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Analyse sales funnels and customer intent.
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data.
  • Research and implement marketing tools to support promotional initiatives.
  • Deploy and animate tools and platforms to process data and support marketing teams. Increase the sales and profitability of the business, by giving the countries the necessary tools, support, training, and market animation gear.
  • Lead marketing value report production to support the marketing population using BI tools such as Pricing Intel.
  • Lead offer lifecycle management (PMO, O2, GRT, COS).
  • Lead digitization of offer data and contribute to offering master data.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to identify opportunities for new client acquisition.
  • Drive the global efficiency and completion of the Marketing Data Management Process, and support Marketing teams with business performance reports.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage research projects (to measure current and forecast future market activity and consumer trends, conduct primary consumer research, identify new market opportunities, analyze competitor activities; or evaluate the success of the marketing).
  • Prepare reports and make recommendations to the businesses as applicable.
  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with external research agencies and consultants to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant experience in market/customer analytics
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Relevant Marketing/Statistics qualification
  • Industry experience
  • Experience working for a multinational – desirable
  • Southern African market exposure and experience are a must
