job description - Senior Independent Review
- Mazars is offering an exciting position for a Senior within the Independent Review department in the Gqeberha office. The purpose of the role is to:
- Compile financial statements (Companies, Close Corporations, Trusts, Sole Proprietors and Individuals)
- Perform Independent reviews in terms of ISRE2400
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accounting assistance and pass adjusting entries to bring accounting records to level where financial statements can be prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting framework. This includes calculating and accounting for income tax and deferred tax.
- Draft annual financial statements, perform independent review and attend to all related administration requirements
- Liaise and deal with clients and partners on their expectations and requirements.
- Ensure the latest statutory knowledge is applied and undergo any necessary training.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles is essential.
- 2 years out of article experience in an accounting firm
- Professionally qualified as a Professional Accountant advantageous.
- Proficient in the application IFRS for SME
- Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of Excel and Pastel.
- Caseware proficiency essential, including drafting of financial statements in caseview.
- Experienced in preparation of Company, Close Corporations, Trusts, Sole Proprietors and Individuals.
- Proficient in providing accounting assistance and passing adjusting journal entries to take accounting records to financial statement level.
- Proficient in calculating tax (including deferred tax) for companies, close corporations, trusts, sole proprietors and individuals
- Must be able to plan, execute, and supervise the execution of fieldwork and finalising of independent review engagements.
