job description - Registration And Compliance Manager (Agriculture)
The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the registration and registration renewals of products in accordance with South African laws & regulations. Mitigation of risk of product lapses or de-registration's which would negatively impact on the business. Duties will include the following:
- Develop registration strategy for BASF crop protection portfolio, new products as well as renewals, maintenance and updates of registered products
- Devise, manage, prepare and submit registration dossiers for ZA and manage registration schedule through liaison with project team to achieve timeous registration that will generate new sales
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and pro-actively guide field trialists and crop teams on regulatory requirements for individual development projects including protocol planning for residue trials
- Represent interests of BASF on relevant CropLife working groups
- Budget for, and manage residue analyses that are critical for new product registration approvals resulting in sales growth for Agricultural Products
- Manage the Product Labels and ensure compliance with regulatory authorities
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for BASF products and also potential hurdles in registration process
- Manage and develop the Regulatory team
- Active participation in crop teams to ensure regulatory compliance of product development portfolio
- Develop and maintain a professional work relationship with regulatory authorities to ensure that the interests of BASF are upheld
- Ensure all product labels are kept up to date and compliant.
- Keep accurate records of up to date label information and communicate timeously any changes to labels to ensure compliance on labels of commercial product
- Maintain Registration timeline list and reporting to head office
- Drive and manage the Patent Defence process
- Manage product development process on a local level in coordination with technical manager
- Derive product development, re-registration and launch support needs (trials, protocol) and provide input to development of business cases
- Ensure the needed planning and implementation of the related project actions (e.g. trials, studies) for South Africa
What we expect
- A Bachelor´s degree in Agriculture or Natural Sciences or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years relevant regulatory experience
- Experience managing a team and influencing across departments
- Registration with the South African council for Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with strong analytical, technical and entrepreneurial attitude
- Attention to detail with high ethical standards and integrity
