job description - Public Relations Coordinator


  • This Public Relations Co Ordinator is responsible for executing the local Public Relations and Social Media Strategy in collaboration with the TeamHead Consumer Marketing with outsourced Public Relations and Social Media Agencies to optimize brand exposure and desirability.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Execute the local Public Relations Plan and Strategy in alignment with the Global Strategy
  • Relationship management with both PR and Social Media agencies to ensure they have all key elements to fulfill their roles
  • Optimisation of Strategic Media coverage
  • On time execution of PR moments

KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develop and implement local Public Relations Plan in alignment with Global Strategy to optimize Brand exposure and desirability. Pitch all Global press releases to relevant individuals. Develop and secure coverage of local press releases. Communicate Global and local news or product stories. Execute full media launches. Creatively execute seasonal press days with success in pitched stories. Execute the local Public Relations Plan and Strategy in alignment with the Global Strategy to optimize Brand exposure and desirability. Packaging and Distributing Press Release content. Packaging and distributing seasonal Press Materials. Assist with implementation and execution of PR events.
  • Assist in the development and management of local Public Relations budget. Monthly budget reporting. Manage product placement- seeding, gifting and giveaways with Public Relations Agency. Placing Seasonal Seeding Orders. Processing and Dispatching Orders. Maintaining product placement budget. Assist with media shopping requests.
  • Develop, implement and plan creatives to launch key initiatives. Assist with the development and management of budget. Develop media angles and pitch list. Manage media to ensure story is received and optimally covered. Secure key interviews where applicable. Product seeding strategy where necessary. Manage Editorial and adverbial briefs. Arrange and package products and images for media shoots.
  • Manage Media and blogger relations. Pitch product for assorted briefs along with the Public Relations Agency. Secure coverage in key titles without any advertising spend. Secure online coverage and product seeding strategy. Coordinate and manage advertorial placements when applicable. Social Media assistance. Sharing content with Social Media agency - International and local campaign, product, social media and PR content [where relevant on social]. Assist agency with customer queries and complaints. Assist agency with product updates. Gather paid UGC content from internal marketing and Splash PR for Social Media use. Potential afterhours social media if agency is unavailable.

YOUR TALENT

  • National Senior Certificate and relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Social media & public relations environment
  • An understanding of the sports & teams PUMA supports.
  • Familiar with Social Media scheduling tools.
  • An interest in all things digital
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus, Youtube, TikTok.
