job description - Operator: BPS


  • To operate BPS machine and supervise Assistant Productions in the cubicle within the Finishing Department to ensure that good quality products are delivered to the customer on time in full.

Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

  •  To ensure that the product is safely stored and handled under dual control at all times.
  •  To balance bank notes received and issued out to Logistics Department on a daily basis (cubicle balancing)
  •  To operate the BPS machine and respond to prompts on the machine to load notes, plastic, bands etc. and to conduct autonomous maintenance on the BPS machine.
  •  To write and communicate daily production reports in the Finishing Section for the cubicle.
  •  To conduct spot checks in the cubicle to ensure high quality products are produced.
  •  To assist with resolving work related problems or defects on the product in consultation with Section Head, and to conduct the performance appraisals for BPS Assistants.
  •  To provide training to new employees and delegates duties to employees.
  •  To ensure that the workplace and machines are cleaned daily in line with 20 Key standards.
  •  To ensure safety and quality regulations and standards are adhered to and to report any incidents or injuries to Supervisor/Section Head.
  •  Perform ad hoc duties as and when requested.

The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

  • Grade 12
  • Machine Operator Certificate (BPS)
  • N4 – N6 Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent (advantageous)
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience within a printing industry or in a similar operational role
