job description - Food Preparer
To prepare ingredients for the daily menu, keep work areas clean and safe to ensure sufficient availability of quality meals.
Main Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Prepare cooking ingredients to ensure that food is prepared according to the set menu.
- Cook food under the instruction of a Chef to ensure food is ready on time.
- Serve food to ensure the quality of the presentation of the meal is maintained.
- Continuously clean and sanitize working areas to ensure hygiene, health and safety procedures.
- Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards are adhered to in line with the legal requirements.
- Perform ad hoc duties as and when requested to ensure completion of daily tasks in the department.
The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:
- Grade 12
- Post-Matric NQF aligned qualification in Catering/Professional Cookery/Food & Beverage Services
- 1 year in Mass Catering
