Duties
- Developing, designing, delivering, and evaluating courses of study in Educational Studies for Foundation Phase;
- Developing education students' knowledge and skills in researching and teaching Foundation Phase Literacies;
- Researching and publication in Educational Studies in Foundation Phase Literacies;
- Potential for providing supervision to postgraduate students;
- Administrative responsibilities relevant to the job level;
- Rendering appropriate services to the University and the teaching community.
Job Requirements
- A relevant master's degree (NQF 9 level qualification);
- A proposed schedule of research publication being planned, or the potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals;
- A relevant BEd or equivalent teaching qualification with specialisation in early childhood development or Foundation Phase teaching, or applicable teaching experience in the Foundation Phase;
- Experience in community engagement;
- Thorough knowledge of current changes, policies, and practices in Foundation Phase education;
- At least three years' relevant experience in Foundation Phase Education at school and/or higher education teaching.
Recommendation
- A PhD or proof of registration for a relevant PhD (past proposal stage);
- Proven leadership in Educational Studies for Foundation Phase Literacies;
- Language skills for learning and teaching across the curriculum, especially in the Foundation Phase;
- Experience and/or knowledge of computer-assisted instruction;
- Published articles in peer-reviewed and indexed journals;
- Peer-reviewed papers delivered at recognised education conferences.
