job description - IT Support Technician
CRITICAL OUTPUTS:
- To set up equipment and software for employee use.
- Install and perform repairs to hardware, software or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- To design, configure and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
- To set up, install and test new units prior to handover and monitoring functionality.
- To diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software related problems and replace defective components when necessary.
- To receive and prioritize user log calls/requests.
- Management of Backups, AntiVirus and configuration cata
- To trouble shoot less complex problems with remote and local users online/telephonically.
- To visit user branches to analyze, diagnose and resolve application and operating system related problems.
- To plan, coordinate and implement network security measures to protect data, software and hardware.
- To operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Grade 12
- IT related qualification highly advantageous
- At least 3 years experience as an IT Support Technician & IT Infrastructure.
- Willingness to travel to different localities with own transport.
