job description - Global Integrations Engineer (HR Solutions)


  • Develop and maintain integrations and ensure all relevant requirements surrounding an application integration is fulfilled.
  • Maintain documentation and data flow specifications for integrations rules.
  • Maintain integration rulesets using various technologies and develop method to ensure all integrations can be easily and properly monitored.
  • Work closely with Global Applications Management team to ensure that all existing integrations run efficiently and are consistently maintained.
  • Working with the Global Applications Management team, add new functionality to integrations when required.
  • Deliver integration code in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Ensure new developments implemented by Dentons transformation program teams are understood and take over the support of these developments in production.
  • Liaise with Regional Integration Leads to ensure they are operating in line with global integration principles and working with the most recent global requirements.
  • Work with support teams and business analysts to ensure requirements are gathered and developed for relevant applications.
  • Working with other team members in other geographies, provide multiple time zone support for critical production systems. As such, this role will require on-call availability in case of critical system downtime.
  • Act as the key point of contact for integration related questions coming from the business for applications in scope for the Central Technology Support service.
  • Provide regular input as to developing technology trends on integration software solutions that are used in, or of interest to the firm.

     

Design, Strategy, and Planning
 

  • Maintain knowledge of Dentons’ strategic business objectives to help ensure that services are engineered and supported in alignment with Dentons standards and best practices.
  • Challenge the “status-quo” in support of Dentons integration technologies to establish innovative approaches to systems and service delivery. Think out of the box, and challenge others (vendors and team members) to do the same to come up with the best solutions and technical approaches.
  • Be proactive while supporting services to ensure potential risks are mitigated in advance through careful planning and monitoring of systems and services.
  • Ensure systems remain highly resilient to meet availability expectations of Dentons in accordance with defined business requirements.

     

Build, Test, Deploy
 

  • Provide hands on leadership during the upgrade or updating of supported platforms and services.
  • Develop integration templates, scripts, and processes to enable the optimized and consistent delivery of supported platforms.
  • Manage and coordinate application vendors activities to ensure integrations between products continue to work seamlessly.
  • Ensure integrations are monitored, maintained, documented and tested appropriately when deploying new scripts.

     

Operational Support
 

  • Participate in the Global Change Control process to help manage change across the environment.
  • Provide operational assistance and oversight in support of globally supported integration systems.
  • Work with the operations team on ensuring integration systems are monitored, patched, and efficiently administered.
  • Monitor, plan and deliver integration rule updates as needed with the support of the Global Operations team.
  • Work with the Global Security Operations team with the security monitoring and response of security incidents for integration platforms.

     

Skills & Competencies

The Global Integrations Engineer must possess strong technical skills with significant hands-on experience working with integration platforms. It is essential that the individual is both hands on and equally capable of articulate ideas and strategies in writing, as well as maintain and document integration schemas.

Technical Skills
 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Integration Support Analyst or Developer
  • SAP SuccessFactors – Employee Central essential; Onboarding, Recruiting, Learning and Performance & Goals management desireable
  • Integration and data manipulation platforms:
    • SAP CPI (including iFlow development), SAP Integration Centre and Groovy Script are required
    • IntApp Integration Builder, Boomi, Azure Data Factory and Logic Apps desirable
  • Experience with SQL Server environments on an Azure platform and on premises.
  • Experience in solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors (required), TR Elite 3E, IntApp Open, and strong understanding of law firm time and billing principles (desired).
  • Extensive experience integrating and reconciling data from numerous sources.
  • Ability to constantly re-evaluate integration parameters, thinking outside the box to solve complex data challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Objective focused with a tenacious appetite to provide the highest level of service.
  • Experience with large system implementations.
  • Working within an Agile/DevOps Framework.
  • Solid understanding of global IT infrastructure and data design principles.
  • Extended knowledge of the technical aspects behind data extraction and integration, including database queries and REST API use.
  • Understanding of global IT practice standards and frameworks.
  • Ability to drive a development from start to finish whilst delivering on time.

Education, Experience & Certifications

Specify the minimum acceptable level of education, experience, and certifications necessary to be able to do the job efficiently. Include both preferred and required level of education.
 

  • Post-secondary education (or equivalent) with a specialization in Information Technology.
  • Certification with Integration development solutions is a plus.
  • Other related technology certifications are beneficial.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with database systems across a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Understands database architecture, query optimization and database development.
  • Understands enterprise and/or program support principles.
  • Has commercial awareness and understands the business value required from IT investments.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
