job description - SHEQ Officer - Multi Green
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.- Relevant qualification/ training in OHS (SAMTRAC/ NEBOSH) will serve as recommendation.
- 3 - 5 year's proven experience in an FMCG Environment with preference given to candidates who has experience in the fertilizer industry.
- Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standards (implement, maintain & revision thereof)
- Hazard Identification, Risk and Legal Compliance Assessments background.
- Willing to work overtime when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Regular on-site and admin Inspections.
- In charge of the company's PPE – Compiling lists of necessities, purchasing, and handing them out.
- Arrange the yearly medical examinations.
- Liaison with VKB's Health & Safety department and keep up the H&S files up to date on SharePoint.
- Analyse and report on Monthly Risk assessments.
- Handling site inspections.
- Dealing with contractors' "Safety files" as set out by the VKB Group's safety policies and procedures.
Environment
- On-site inspections.
- Departmental investigations - being the point of contact for inspections and ensuring that documentation and files are ready for inspections.
- Maintain the Basic assessment report.
- Handling complaints from the public according to the environmental policy.
Quality
- Customer complaints: investigating the complaints and doing farm visits as agreed upon.
- Sampling, Sample testing and ensuring that the correct analysis, storage and record keeping for samples are followed.
- Ensure that the quality of consumables and packaging material is audited & applied.
General Security
- Alcohol testing and disciplines.
- Complaints & Inquiries from Public.
ISO9001
- Implementation of the ISO9001 system.
- Setting up the ISO9001 Policies and procedures; ensuring that employees at Multi-Green is trained and informed.
- Create checklists and ensure that all relevant employees are trained on how to use them.
- Regular inspections.
- Maintenance of the system.
- Handling enquiries regarding the system.
Human Capital Assistance
- Liaison between Human Capital and the employees.
- Scanning and copying documents.
- Handling employee inquiries.
- Assist with recruitment & appointments.
- Handling of WCA’s (Injury on Duty)
- Determination of the needs of the training, and to organize the training.
- In charge of casuals and temporary Claims.
- Inductions for new employees.
Production and Maintenance
- Liaison with Production and maintenance
- Support to Production when needed.
- Assist in the preparation and management of financial budgets.
- Requesting Quotes.
- Monthly counting of stock.
General
- Control over Show materials.
- Attending and reporting to weekly meetings. Taking minutes during meetings.
- General administrative tasks of the SHEQ-, as well as the Operational departments.
- Filling and recordkeeping of documents to ensure effective retrieval of information at any stage.
