job description - Finance Manager: Accounts Receivable
You are responsible for the management of financial outputs provided by the accounts receivable team in support of the Clusters, ensuring accurate provisioning and timeous reporting in your areas of responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
- Review monthly trade cost recons
- Review and validate fixed claims, and variable claims for the Culinary, HPCB and STB Clusters as received from customers (n conjunction with FM Trade Cost)
- Review and validate all growth claims in consultation with Customer Team Finance Manager
- Maintain trading term database to ensure correct provisioning (Docuware & MS Access)
- Manage all month end accounting entries (debtors sub-ledger recon, debtors ECLS and specific provisions, credit note provision, settlement discount provision, IFRS 15 journal etc)
- Agents KPI's (Claim Settlement)
- Commission management : Agents commission; approval of claims (Logico 3% distribution agreement; Market Max, trade stuff, Clicka & Smollans Commission)
- Claim approvals in line with DoA, SOP and approved mandates (in conjunction with FM Trade Cost)
Compliance and Governance
- Assist with internal and external audits and audit requirements relating to trade cost and AR.
Reporting
- Produce various financial and other analyses as determined by SLA’s (trade cost data for Customer IS)
- Produce ad hoc and planned reports and analyses for AR finance function
Continuous Improvement
- Actively drive system improvement and reporting enhancements.
- Docuware project t execution
People Management
- Manage accounting team including assistant accountant/s and trade cost clerical team members
Adhoc
- Provide financial and accounting assistance to the Credit Risk Manager and Accounts receivables team as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Key attributes and competencies
- Business analytical skills
- Strong finance business background
- Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases and spreadsheets required.
- Be able to make sound, independent judgements.
- Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
- Well refined technical finance skills
- Ability to manage complexity – multiple stakeholders, countries and categories
Experience
- Financial qualification/ degree
- 3 – 5 years experience in a Finance role
- Credit management experience an advantage
