job description - Assistant Manager
Purpose of the Job
- As part of the Agricultural team, she or he is responsible for overseeing all Seed Farm operation. In collaboration with the Farms Manager She/he is responsible to produce the certified quality potato seed at a competitive price the required volumes.
- This person must ensure that all farm management records are up to date and accurate and will be responsible for the training, recruitment and driving and maintain a safe working culture onsite.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all farming operations.
- Provide development and leadership support to direct reports in order to achieve departmental and employee objectives.
- Ensure farm activities and personnel comply with safety regulation.
- Ensure operational costs are kept within budget for monthly until financial year end.
- Drive Operations to ensure yield and quality specifications are met
- Ensure that all pesticide, fertilizer, rainfall, irrigation and diesel usage records are recorded and reported.
- Ensure that all other farm related records are recorded accordingly
