job description - Assistant Management Accountant
- Maintenance of General Ledger including preparation of journals.
- Maintenance of Trade & Other Payables, and Trade & Other Receivables, and other balance sheet accounts, including preparation of journals.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset register, including preparation of journals.
- Preparation of components/inputs for interim and annual group reporting pack for review by
- Management Accountant/ Finance Manager.
- Preparation of annual departmental budgets and quarterly forecasts for review by
- Management Accountant/ Finance Manager.
- Ad hoc financial reporting requests and tasks as required.
Payroll Processing:
- Update payroll file and supporting documentation inputs for monthly submission.
- EMP201 recons and submissions.
Internal Controls, Risk Management & Compliance:
- Implementation of procuring to pay management practices.
- VAT recons and submissions.
- Contribute to compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Input into B-BBEE compliance schedules and supporting documentation maintenance.
- Input to submissions to ICASA, SAMRO, SAMPRA, BRC, and other similar industry/compliance bodies.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelors degree with accounts as major or similar tertiary qualification.
- SAICA/SAIPA articles will be advantageous.
- Min of 3 years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Computer Literate (MS Office, Word & Excel).
- Working with ERP systems - Sage Evolution experience will be advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting background and numerical ability.
