To maintain the overall effectiveness of equipment and the plants on site which includes Electrical and Mechanical support.
Key Responsibilities
- To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions.
- To facilitate and lead problem solving processes for continuous improvement.
Qualification Requirements
- 5-7 years’ experience in relevant trade.
- 5 years’ experience in a FMCG environment
- Experience with High-Speed Continuous Operations
- Experience on Flour Milling equipment will be an advantage
Experience Requirements
- Expert knowledge in relevant field
- Understanding of relevant Regulatory and Legislative Requirements e.g. OSH Act/GMP/Food Safety
- Knowledge of Pneumatics
- Maintenance system skills
- Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis

Key Outputs
- To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions.
- To facilitate and lead problem solving processes for continuous improvement.
- To record and analyse breakdown trends per machine using a maintenance system to motivate equipment improvement or purchases.
- To render support on ad hoc projects to optimize process flow.
- To ensure compliance with relevant Food Safety, Health Safety and GMP Requirements through the maintenance of process and document controls according to SOP’s.
- To provide on job coaching for Handyman and Apprentices/Students.
- To train and coach Technical Operators regarding SOP’s and work instructions to ensure best operating practices.
