job description - Technical Head, Network Distribution (Power)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee network distribution operation and maintenance vendors, ensuring efficient performance.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to support the achievement of industrial and commercial targets.
  • Develop and maintain company processes and procedures for scheduling high voltage works and associated work permit regimes.
  • Ensure timely management of voltage drops, short circuits, power factors, and sag and stress issues.
  • Foster high-level operational collaboration with other electricity distributors.
  • Maintain communication with electricity suppliers, emergency, and service providers, ICPs, and other distributors regarding technical and operational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company internal design and construction policies, distribution safety rules, and technical standards.
  • Review and enhance the adequacy and effectiveness of asset maintenance regimes and safety policies and develop and implement maintenance and inspection schedules.
  • Provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of power distribution systems.
  • Develop and maintain accurate digital models of the electric delivery system for simulation purposes.
  • Conduct power flow studies and maintain associated databases.
  • Innovate new processes and tools to facilitate analysis of power systems and large datasets of historical operating conditions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of First Degree in Power Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • A Postgraduate Degree in Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (5) years work experience in the finance function in a similar organization within the Power industry
  • Professional membership of the Council of the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN),The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or other recognized Engineering Professional Body
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
