job description - Team Lead, Solar Home Systems Division

  • The role is for the team member that would oversee PowerCap’s Solar Home System (SHS) sales plan. Our SHS would provide services on both one off and instalment payment plans.
  • You would focus on customers’ requirements in 3 segments; Application for critical users, Application for Large homes and Small Holders application.
  • You would support the design, importation and manufacturing /assembling of components in our products line with key focus on quality installation work steps and profitability packages to end users. You would optimise the use of resources while ensuring the health and safety of staff and end users.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the sales of PowerCap’s Solar Products.
  • Manage marketing and field technicians strictly driven by output.
  • Assure quality certifications requirements and processes are strictly adhere to
  • Establish a strategy to become a force in the chosen market segment.
  • Identify products that can be added to the existing portfolio and support management in implementing same.
  • Prepare reports for review of all segments of the business by Top Management.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director / CEO.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in Marketing or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated operating experience in Solar Products marketing.
  • Skills and Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of Solar Power Project development, Production of components mining operations, production, maintenance, process control and health and safety management.
  • Commercial acumen and experience regarding how to maximise the financial returns of solar product production including the ability to compile and manage budgets and operating costs.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Commitment to Quality Management, Safety and Environment regulations
  • Good data gathering and analysis skills.
  • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
