job description - Senior Scrum Master

  • As a Scrum Master, you’ll get to work with multiple teams in multiple geographical locations that are delivering functionalities and products across a wide range of systems and environments.
  • As a technology team, we’re responsible for designing, building, and operating our physical data centers, all of our networking, the services we consume from other platforms, and the software we run on top to support our Customer and Internal facing products.

Responsibilities

  • Coach the team and the organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver consistent value in an agreed cadence
  • Guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and the organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Protect the team from external interference and foster proper communication.
  • Build trust and a safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Support and educate the Product Owner, especially grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
  • Build robust, and scalable applications.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban.
  • A minimum of Four years of experience working in a software development team where Scrum principles, practices, and theory were consistently applied.
  • Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (for example Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
