- Nextier seeks a Senior Manager for its advisory business to work closely with the Partner to drive business growth and solution delivery.
- You must be an adaptive leader who can conceptualise and deliver solutions to drive improved development outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Led the day-to-day execution of client projects while guiding and developing individual team members.
- Work directly with clients to develop tailor-made solutions and ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
- Overall ownership of project delivery, including the development of programme scope, analysis, design, and implementation.
- Develop proposals, tenders, policy briefs, copy editing of articles and project reports.
- Deliver projects successfully to the agreed timeline, quality standards and budget.
- Lead and supervise the project team of Nextier and counterpart team members.
- Drive client satisfaction and uptake of Nextier solutions.
- Groom Nextier people and help develop their skills and capabilities.
- Manage business operations to improve financial sustainability and impact.
- Manage client relationships and contribute to a positive image for the firm.
- Develop skills and competence in functional areas such as policy research, impact assessment, strategy, etc.
Requirements
- At least ten years of experience with at least four years in consultancy, including experience managing project teams and building client relationships.
- Master's Degree in the Social Sciences or related field. PhD is an added advantage.
- Committed self-starter and evidenced passion for development work with an entrepreneurial spirit and a solid ability to work independently.
- Fascinated by creating and implementing solutions to seemingly intractable development challenges within the complexities of Africa’s public sector.
- Experience adapting theories and ‘optimal’ practices within the context of a society’s political economy.
- Drives ideas with entrepreneurial zest while balancing business and impact goals.
- Professionalism and demonstrated experience working with senior officials in the public and private sectors.
- Thinks strategically as well as comfortable with operational processes.
- Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
- Good listener and enjoys facilitating discussions to find insights to drive change.
- Ability to present written and oral information in an insightful and structured manner.
- Lists reading policy or business books as a favourite pass time.
- Attention to detail; measures twice, cuts once.
- Proficient with MS Office, Including MS Excel, MS Word And MS PowerPoint.
