job description - People Operations Associate

  • We are looking for a passionate and creative People Operations Associate who will be working closely with the Head of People & Culture in designing modern and innovative solutions to ensure that Sparkle is the best thriving environment for all our Sparklers.
  • Contrary to what most people think -this role goes beyond basic HR administration.
  • You’ll play an active role in getting to know our Sparklers, understanding the various employee touchpoints throughout an employee’s life cycle and coming up with creative ways to ensure that our Sparkler have the best Employee Experience (Ex) at Sparkle.
  • You will be empowered to work autonomously to continue raising the bar in relation to hiring, learning and development, rewards and talent management.

Responsibilities
What you get to do everyday:

  • Hiring: You’ll support the Head of People & Culture in sourcing and selecting potential Sparklers through various channels including social media, job boards and developer communities.
  • Learning & Development: You will be responsible for monitoring learning and development activities and ensuring successful completion within designated timeframes.
  • Employee Engagement (Ex): You’ll spend a significant amount of time listening and responding to employee related queries about wellness, leave management, benefits, policies etc on the Microsoft Teams and SharePoint channels. You’ll also assist in the coordination of employee engagement activities such as exit interviews, employee pulse checks and annual employee surveys.
  • Employee Life Cycle Documentation Support: You’ll be responsible for updating and maintaining employee information on our SharePoint Intranet, ERP platform Odoo and OneDrive. You’ll also be work on policy documentation, managing health insurance details, benefits and managing people changes including new hire, terminations etc.
  • Culture Ambassador: You’ll play a key role in measuring and representing our culture and core values to all incoming, current, and exiting employees.
  • Monitoring & Reporting Metrics: You’ll work closely with the Head of People in reviewing the HR Dashboard on PowerBI and utilizing the information in preparing monthly and quarterly reports and making informed people decisions.
  • Research & Info Gathering: This role requires being constantly updated on the latest trends on keeping employees engaged. You’ll will spend some time researching on current labour laws, trends, fun activities and projects to keep our Sparklers engaged and productive.

Requirements
?Do Apply If:

  • You’ve spent at least a year working in human resources. You’ll need some prior experience working as a HR generalist as well as knowledge of important labour laws and current human resources trends.
  • You’re passionate about people. We’re looking for someone who is anal about ensuring that our people have the topmost experience while they work. To succeed in this role, you’ve got to have great interpersonal skills and empathy.
  • You are exceptionally driven and can take ownership of tasks without needing a lot of instructions.
  • You’ve been told you’re creative and you have always wanted to showcase your creativity in a people capacity.
  • You’re highly data driven and comfortable with numbers, using charts, excel and other analytical tools.

This role isn’t for you if:

  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Sparkle is a startup and we are currently in the building phase. We are agile and require someone who can easily adapt and work quickly to achieve results.
  • You only like the traditional ways of doing things. No hard feelings really -but you probably will struggle a bit in this role if you’re not constantly thinking outside the box and thinking of ways to disrupt the status quo.
  • You’re not tech savvy. Sparkle is paperless and this means that everything we do is automated (paper is so 2009). You’re likely to succeed with this role if you’re used to using technology to solve problems.
