  • Our client, a leading FinTech company in Nigeria, offering a comprehensive suite of payment solutions, payment terminal services, and super agency operations with a commitment to driving financial inclusion and innovation, making financial services accessible and convenient for everyone, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Managing Director.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overall leadership, setting the strategic direction, driving innovation, and profitable expansion across their payment solutions, payment terminal services, and super agency network.
  • He/she will lead a talented team and oversee all aspects of their operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and the delivery of exceptional value to their customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive growth strategy, focusing on expanding market share and service offerings.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of annual business plans.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations, identifying new opportunities and adapting the business model to market changes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results-oriented execution.
  • Set ambitious yet achievable goals for all departments in alignment with the overall corporate vision.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the company.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to all departments within the company.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management of all resources, optimizing processes and maximizing profitability.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all business units and ensure optimal business outcomes.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all aspects of the business.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, investors, partners, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
  • Clearly communicate the company's vision and strategy to all stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, promoting the brand and vision.

Financial Performance:

  • Drive revenue growth and profitability, ensuring strong financial performance against set targets.
  • Drive the creation and execution of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Manage financial resources effectively, optimizing profitability and return on investment.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all regulations.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Implement robust compliance measures and frameworks to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively address any compliance concerns.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Champion the adoption of innovative solutions to improve the payment platform, enhance user experience, and drive business growth.
  • Lead the company in leveraging technology to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving FinTech landscape.
  • Ensure in collaboration with the IT Department the smooth operation and security of technology infrastructure.

Building a High-Performing Team:

  • Attract, retain, and motivate top talent, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Empower your team to make decisions and take ownership of their projects.
  • Invest in the professional development of your team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare sundry reports in a timely manner.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision making always regarding company’s resources.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures.
  • Promote the company’s values and philosophy in the performance of your services.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Management, Business, Finance, Economics or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the FinTech or financial services industry.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record of success in leading and driving significant growth and profitability for a financial services company.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian financial ecosystem, payment landscape and regulatory environment governing PSSPs, PTSPs, and Super Agents.
  • Exceptional business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for financial inclusion and driving positive change in Nigeria.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
