job description - Head, Marketing And Communications

  • The Head Marketing & Communications for Coronation Insurance will be responsible for devising and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s digital transformation objectives.
  • This role demands a creative and analytical thinker who can lead a team to build and strengthen our brand presence, engage diverse customer segments, and foster lasting relationships with clients and partners.

Key Stakeholders

  • The role will work closely with the CEOs of the General Insurance and Life Assurance businesses within Coronation Insurance Group to understand their business strategy and objectives, with the goal to craft and deliver winning marketing strategies.
  • The role will also work with the Sales and other customer facing teams across the Group to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Key functional collaborators for this role cut across Customer Experience, Technology and Data Science & Analytics teams across the Group.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking marketing, brand, and communications strategy aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Lead a team of marketing, brand, and communication professionals to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with product development, customer experience, and business growth objectives.
  • Project Coronation Insurance's brand identity, values, and messaging to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across all touchpoints, including digital platforms, offline materials, and customer interactions.
  • Devise strategies to attract, engage, and retain individual and institutional customers by delivering relevant and personalized experiences.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to optimize customer segmentation, targeting, and engagement strategies.
  • Conceptualize and execute impactful marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure campaign effectiveness.
  • Support the integration of digital channels and technologies into marketing efforts to enhance customer engagement and streamline communication processes
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Coronation Insurance remains at the forefront of marketing innovation and excellence
  • Identify and establish partnerships with relevant industry players, influencers, and institutions to amplify brand reach and engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create joint marketing initiatives that benefit both parties.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing, brand, and communications team.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.

Technical and Behavioral Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Relevant Post-graduate / professional qualification such as MBA will be an added advantage
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and brand management, with a demonstrated track record of leading successful campaigns and initiatives
  • Experience in fintech, insurance or financial services industry is a plus
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, data analytics, and technology trends
  • Understanding of the digital world and the disruptive opportunities being created
  • Ability to generate relevant content and write basic marketing copy in various formats including text, links, video, visual and more
  • Ability to organize information and findings and share them within organization
  • Excellent communication and business presentation skills
  • Digital savvy and ability to drive and interpret data analytics
  • Good knowledge and understanding of media and public relationship strategies.
  • Ability to think strategically, and drive for results
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
