Head, Internal AuditFirst Ally

• Our company seeks a Head, of Internal Audit for the provision of an independent, objective assurance and consulting service that adds value to the operations of the company.
• The individual will evaluate and improve the effectiveness of corporate governance, risk management and control processes within the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Review all assigned units of the Group and deliver timely reports to the Board Audit Committee with dotted reporting lines to the Group Managing Director.
• Evaluating the process established to ensure compliance with policies, plans procedures, laws and regulations which could have a significant impact in the organization.
• Strategic implementation of the different reviews highlighted in the audit plan including any additional task assigned by management and the Board Audit Committee.
• Ensuring methodical documentation of work plans, test results, conclusions and recommendations. Ensure closure of all outstanding open items in the audit log book.
• Evaluating the means of safeguarding assets and as appropriate, verify the existence of such assets.
• Engaging in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities within the organization and reporting findings to the management and board audit committee.
• Training & mentoring direct reports.

Qualifications

• A First Degree from a leading university
• Other additional qualifications e.g. ACA, ACIB, CFA will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a bank or other financial institution, with a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience undertaking audit and control exercises in a well-structured and regulated institution.
