job description - Fundraising Specialist

  • We are seeking a seasoned Fundraising Specialist to join our team. In this role, the Fundraising Specialist will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, manage fundraising campaigns and encourage support through promotional activities.
  • The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, organized and have a knack for research. We’re looking for someone with an exceptional drive to further our fundraising efforts as well as strategize and deliver on new ones.

  • NGO/Charity Organisation experience is MANDATORY.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the activities related to individual, corporate and other donors for organizations.
  • Manage the relationships with donors.
  • Research opportunities for potential new donors, and maintain records of donations.
  • Follow up on correspondences with new donors, and arrange meetings to discuss opportunities.
  • Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work.
  • Cultivate a network of dedicated donors.
  • Spot new fundraising opportunities.
  • Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals.
  • Form strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop.
  • Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.
  • Write grant applications and fundraising proposals.
  • Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns.
  • Organize fundraising events while overseeing teams of volunteers.
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports.
  • Work alongside the executive team to define the pitch used in investor meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A wide portfolio of fund raisings ideally with an NGO or charitable organisation for at least 3-5 years.
  • Experience working in an NGO/Charity Organisation.
  • Competence with donor management systems.
  • Experience in writing grant proposals, press releases, and fundraising letters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
