job description - Commercial Sales Team Lead

  • To Contribute to the profitability of Norsworthy by sustaining and growing the Norsworthy Palm Oil sales by ensuring operational excellence, revenue growth and cost leadership
  • To identify, build and maintain strategic relationships that will ensure the continued growth and profitability of the business and contribute to strengthening the Norsworthy Farms brand.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term commercial sales business and earnings.
  • Prepares and manages the budget for Norsworthy Farms commercial sales business and drives its delivery.
  • Engages with Executive Management to determine product pricing and/or discount schemes and ensures that this is effectively communicated to customers.
  • Directs the selling activities within Norsworthy Farms commercial sales business, including resources deployment and customer interactions.
  • Regularly conducts market survey and audits to facilitate the development of plans and tactics that deliver on the strategic objective of the Norsworthy Farms commercial sales business.
  • Aware of competition and consumer trends in the industry and to keep abreast of business opportunities and threats.
  • Plan, develop and implement strategy to profitably grow the business.
  • Leads business development activities and manages existing relationships to grow the bulk sales portfolio.
  • Design top-line strategic plans to achieve volume and margin targets as well as to grow the commercial business.
  • Negotiate and close long-term supply contracts with key customer.
  • Supervises the activities of all commercial sales business staff and ensures all orders are serviced.
  • Lead the preparation, submission, tracking and closing of quotations and proposals.
  • Engages with Executive Management and Head-Brand Management & Communications to set customer service delivery standard for bulk sales teams. Monitors implementation to ensure standards are consistently applied and adhered to.
  • Puts in place measures to effectively track and address customer feedback and complaints.
  • Liaises with customers concerning the availability of stock.
  • Reviews the periodic inward delivery and product inventory reports.
  • Analysis of performance reports and reports trends in profitability and pricing.
  • Reviews commercial sales business reports relating to own business division and reports to Executive Management on performance.



  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree / HND in a Social Science, Accounting, Finance or Engineering or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Sales or Distribution department of a similar organisation with at least 4 in a management role.



  • MBA or Master’s Degree in any related discipline.
