job description - Business Development / Procurement Officer
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
Procurement:
- Acquiring goods, services and works from suppliers (external sources) at the best possible prices in good quality and quantity
- Providing assistance and reporting to the procurement manager in the day-to-day procurement of goods and services
- Providing technical support to the procurement manager (i.e price collation, building a supplier’s database, recording and reporting)
- Managing quality and cost control
- Comparing prices of suppliers (external sources) and staying up to date with current market prices of goods (i.e market analysis)
- Scrutinizing eligible suppliers to meet the company’s demands which are mainly accurate quantity, good delivery time, superior quality, e.t.c
- Reviewing records of purchased goods.
Business Development:
- Creating market strategies for the business
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
- Developing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, including clients and suppliers
- Conducting periodic market research and analysis
- Implementing strategies to minimize operating costs and increase profits
- Experience in setting up a Business Development Unit.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with 5 years of work experience.
