job description - Business Development / Procurement Officer

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:

Procurement:

  • Acquiring goods, services and works from suppliers (external sources) at the best possible prices in good quality and quantity
  • Providing assistance and reporting to the procurement manager in the day-to-day procurement of goods and services
  • Providing technical support to the procurement manager (i.e price collation, building a supplier’s database, recording and reporting)
  • Managing quality and cost control
  • Comparing prices of suppliers (external sources) and staying up to date with current market prices of goods (i.e market analysis)
  • Scrutinizing eligible suppliers to meet the company’s demands which are mainly accurate quantity, good delivery time, superior quality, e.t.c
  • Reviewing records of purchased goods.

Business Development:

  • Creating market strategies for the business
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, including clients and suppliers
  • Conducting periodic market research and analysis
  • Implementing strategies to minimize operating costs and increase profits
  • Experience in setting up a Business Development Unit.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with 5 years of work experience.
