JOB DETAILS:
- Our organization is a non-profit humanitarian agency dedicated to providing emergency assistance and relief to displaced persons and vulnerable communities.
- We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Community Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) team.
- The Community Camp Coordination and Camp Management Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and management of internally displaced persons (IDP) camps and host communities.
- The successful candidate will ensure that camps are managed in accordance with international standards, national laws, and organizational policies.
- The Team Lead will also coordinate with stakeholders, including government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and implement CCCM strategies and plans in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct camp assessments and identify needs, risks, and opportunities.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
Camp Management:
- Oversee camp operations, ensuring safety, security, and dignity for residents.
- Coordinate service provision (water, sanitation, hygiene, health, nutrition, protection, and education).
- Manage camp infrastructure, maintenance, and upgrades.
Community Engagement and Participation:
- Facilitate community participation in camp decision-making processes.
- Establish and support camp management committees.
- Ensure accountability to affected populations.
Team Management and Capacity Building:
- Supervise and mentor CCCM team members.
- Build capacity of team members and community volunteers.
- Conduct training and workshops.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Monitor camp conditions and service delivery.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations.
- Compile and submit reports to stakeholders.
Safety and Security:
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in camp management, humanitarian response, or related field.
- Proven experience in team management and leadership.
- Strong knowledge of CCCM standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field.
- Experience working with IDPs, refugees, or vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with Nigerian context and local languages.
Skills:
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
