JOB TITLE: Director, Physical Planning Unit

JOB DETAILS;

• The Director of the physical planning unit is responsible for the overall planning and development of the university’s physical infrastructure, including buildings, roads, parks, gardens, and utilities.
• The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Physical Planning Unit, ensuring the design of a safe, functional, and conducive to learning envoronment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Physical Planning Unit.
• Develop and implement the university’s physical development, master plans, and policies.
• Coordinate the preparation of master plans, and detailed designs, for university projects.
• Manage the unit’s budget and resources.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff in the Physical Planning Unit.

Requirements

• At least a second-class lower, honors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering).
• A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in physical planning, architecture, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior management position in a university or similar institution.
• Proven experience in managing physical infrastructure development in a university or similar institution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. v. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nigerian Institute of Architects, Nigerian Institute of Town Planners).

Conditions of Service

• The successful candidate will be appointed for a single term of four (4) years and entitled to the benefits and allowances approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Governing Council as the case may be.
