JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineering

JOB DETAILS:
Electrical Engineers/ Technicians are tasked with several key responsibilities that ensure the efficiency and safety of electrical systems. These include:

- Designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Responsible for planning, installing, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical wiring systems and equipments.
- Analyzing electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Conducting testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Performing detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
- Using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Comparing readings with the specifications, manuals, or diagrams by tracing circuits or components from the source to the load. Looking for signs of damage, corrosion, loose connections or overheating.
- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Supervising or training project team members as necessary.
- Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes.
Key Tasks and Duties
In their daily operations, Electrical Engineers/ Technicians undertake a variety of tasks that include:
- Inspecting completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Planning and implementing research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Maintaining electrical equipment.
- Working with project managers on production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Education and Certification Requirements
To qualify for a position as an Electrical Engineer, candidates must meet specific educational and certification standards:
