- The Head of Finance for Dangote Cement Transport is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the Transport division of Dangote Cement.
- This leadership position will involve strategic financial management, policy development, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while supporting the growth objectives of the transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that align with the overall business goals of Dangote Cement Transport.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to ensure financial targets are met.
- Manage the accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards, including IFRS and local legislation.
- Analyze financial performance and present insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
- Support investment analysis and assess financial implications of operational decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve financial operations and efficiencies.
- Oversee cash flow management and optimize working capital.
- Lead and mentor the finance team to build capacity and promote professional growth.
- Collaborate with other departments for effective resource allocation and cost management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (MBA or Master’s in Finance) or professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role, ideally within logistics or transport-related industries.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and reporting standards.
- In-depth knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards in financial reporting.
