JOB TITLE: Lead Intervention Engineer
JOB LOCATION: Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt – Rivers

JOB DETAILS:
- Responsible for the preparation, planning, execution, supervision, commissioning, cost definition and follow-up of major interventions / overhauls jobs on rotating equipment packages – gas turbines, compressors, pumps (reciprocating and centrifugal), engines (used for water injection, oil expedition, etc) and and static equipment packages – cranes 5Y PM, skids modification, manual valves, site modifications, fire?fighting systems (engines, hydrants, pumps, auxiliary systems), fan coolers all in JV assets.
- Supervises the implementation of both major and minor shutdowns of equipment and improvement projects, to ensure their safe, cost-effective and timely execution in accordance with established Company standards and specifications.
- Prepares all the required procedures, planning, spares and manpower to perform the packages interventions.
- Perform and supervise the interventions on the equipment on site.
- Coordinates all trade tasks during a package intervention to ensure the timely completion of the packages intervention and ensure the timely handover of the equipment to Production team.
- Review and control the standardization of intervention materials and spare parts for mechanical equipment and related systems.
- Prepare work packs for major equipment intervention activities.
- Reviews stock quantities, usage and consumption to minimize the stock value, whilst ensuring that all spare parts are available for planned intervention on all the equipment.
- Assist the Maintenance Management and the Mechanical Maintenance team in the preparation of budgets, contracts for intervention, vendor mobilization and all other support functions necessary for the efficient intervention on the equipment.
- Ensure updating of the CMMS with required procedures for major intervention and report all maintenance intervention activities in CMMS.
- Plan and administer the mechanical planned preventive maintenance program to ensure that the maintenance tasks undertaken are adequate to prevent unplanned equipment failure.
- Liaise with vendors and the original equipment manufacturers for all queries regarding maintenance, modifications, spare parts, drawings and the resolution of technical problems.
- Create Maintenance Equipment Log Book (MELB). Ensure that all drawings, plans, manual and MELB are up-to-date and “as built”, and direct draftsmen to carry out all corrections to reflect any alterations, modifications and additions to mechanical equipment systems
- Review and check work completed by contractors, ensure compliance with work is satisfactorily completed, make necessary corrections, and submit to the DGM Maintenance for endorsement and payment processing.
Context & Environment:
- Closely monitor developments in relevant local and international business environment
- Oil and gas production assets located Onshore and Offshore, crude storage units.
- Striving to achieve cost saving and best value for money in structural maintenance activities.
- Progress competency level of staff working in rotating equipment section
- High HSE risks (continuous hot works, SIMOPS, confined space, scaffolding, lifting, work at height activities in aging facilities etc.).
Additional Information:
- Part of a team of engineers of Rotating Equipment Group in JV Asset.
- Contracts: Vendors SMC and OEM (Siemens, Solar, Sulzer, Dresser, Mantrac/Carterpillar, Thermodyn, Man, SPX, Lufkin, ABB, NP, Flowserve, Atlas Copco, Worthington, Fluide Services, local contractors, etc)
- Support JV sites in accordance to Company Rules, Statutory rules regulation in order to assure the oil and gas production targets within the budget estimated.
- Ensures all mechanical interventions are efficiently carried out in strict compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Analyses the intervention activities performance from a technical and economic perspective and takes action necessary to achieve company set objectives regarding efficiency, cost optimization and savings.
- Able to manage and account up to 20 MUSD/year in the most economical manner and in the best interest of the company.
HSE:
- Ensure and promote the application of the Company HSE rules and specifications
- Ensure that contractors comply at all times with safety rules, taking actions as required in case of disregards of the rules, stopping the works if they are deemed unsafe, and organizing tool-box meetings and recovery plans
- Promote safety culture within Company personnel and contractors as well as the reporting of anomalies
- Ensure and monitor the safety of personnel and installations as well as protection of the environment.
Candidate Profile
- Candidates should posses a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer.
- At least 12 years of experience rotating and static equipment preferably with the oil or petrochemical industries. High level of knowledge of mechanical equipment, maintenance systems and methods
- Capability to manage HSE aspects (in particular respect of safety rules) including management of these aspects by external entities.
- Specific professional knowledge: SAP/R3 (UNISUP).
- Good knowledge of technical rules and quality level required for these activities.
- Ability to work in a large multinational team.
- Ability to manage an integrated team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
