JOB TITLE: WASH Manager

JOB DETAILS:
- YIPDI is in search for a WASH Deputy Manager who will work under the leadership and supervision of the Project Manager, accountable for professional technical contribution to drilling and construction of the WASH project activities within the frame work of the emergency response program in Borno state Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Implementation of projects in accordance with the YIPDI Charter, YIPDI strategic framework, policies (WASH and other YIPDI sectors), positioning papers, the national strategy and other WASH standard and policies;
- To participate, if necessary, in the development of the WASH/NFI/Shelter part of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) in its area of intervention;
- Promote cross-sectoral integration of the WASH sector with other sectors in collaboration with the Project Coordinator;
- Proposal development and strategic planning.
- To be fully aware of its project(s), the logical framework and the indicators, by having a printed copy of the donor contractual documents, and to share the information with its teams;
- Ensure timely submission of Weekly, monthly and quarterly report as well as planned activities to the Project Coordinator and head of programs.
- Monitoring of its programs, through internal APR monitoring tools, its regular presence in the field, an updated chronogram, monthly budget monitoring analysis;
- Supporting and monitoring the implementing partner in both loaction LGA;
- Coordinating its activities with other sectors and departments of YIPDI for a rationalized use of resources and maximum integration;
- Ensure adequate Coordination with WASH sector technical working group, government agencies, ministries, and stake holders.
- Building the capacity of WASH implementing partners and stakeholders.
Position Required
- MSA / MA in Civil and Water Engineering or Geology and mining of 7-10 years work experience
- Previous experience with other NGOs
- Training and experience on borehole and VIP latrine
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English and Hausa Spoken and written
- Ability to Work in Partnership with government and other NGO staff
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to travel the field for program monitoring and supportive visits to work within a team setting
- Excellent communication skills.
